You will extract the files in a directory on your platform and put the ISO file “Enterprise-R5-U4-Server-i386-dvd” in your Oracle VM VirtualBox (If you don’t have a VM installed, you can do download on link https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads), when was downloaded on 01 January 2015.

When you are creating your OracleVM VirtualBox, you need choose the platform type as “Linux” and Oracle Version as “Oracle (32bit)”. Follow the example below:
After this step, will questioned about the memory size for you virtual machine (I put 2048 MB , but I guess 1024 is enough) and the “Create a virtual hard drive now”. On the next page you choose “VDI (VirtualBox Disc Image)” for the hard drive file type and “Dinamically allocated”or “Fixed size” to the method the storage alocation to your VM. Thus, you will put the size of the disc (30 or 40 GB is a good size).
Good, now you created your VM. But you need put the ISO file for Oracle Linux 5.4 installation. For it, you will click in “Seetings” in the Oracle VM with your VM selected. Follow below the menu on Oracle VM:
After you to click in “Seetings” , choose “Storage” and put the ISO FILE “Enterprise-R5-U4-Server-i386-dvd” on the “Controller: IDE” through the option “Add CD/DVD Device”. Your VM must be similar the follow image:
Click in the button “OK” and now you will able to install Oracle Linux 5.4 – 32 bits in your VM. This step will submitted on the next post.
